  • What is a Ready-To-Move Home? (RTM)

A KM Construction RTM is a “stick-built” home with extra attention given to the structural integrity to allow for moving. Extra materials and glue are used in the construction of the floor, walls. And ceiling to give it the added strength needed for a trouble-free move. This results in a home that far exceeds the quality and strength of 95% of homes constructed on site in North America today! Once placed on a crawlspace or basement a RTM has the same lasting value of a site-built home, After the house is placed on the foundation the furnace, ductwork, and water lines are hooked up just like any site-built home. Many people mistakenly believe that a RTM is the same as a modular home. A modular home is usually built on a steel frame with furnace and ductwork built into the framework, and they are built in a factory with limited design and options.

  • Why choose a KM Construction RTM?

The lasting value of a KM Construction RTM is great because of the workmanship and quality materials which are used. • Where does KM Construction move RTMs to?

Over the years KM Construction has moved houses to many locations within Manitoba, Saskatchewan, North Dakota, and as far as Montana. There may be a KM Construction home near you!

  • What are the size limitations?

There are a few factors such as the route required to get to your location and the yard site itself that make a difference in the size of the houses that can be moved. We generally don’t move houses more than 36’ wide and 96’ long, although there are some exceptions if route and yard site allow. Car garages are commonly attached and moved with the house as long as they are within the parameters noted above.
